Sing to Me: The Blood Scene (Elizabeth Bathory)
Filed Under Express Operator Of The Year
Scene from the opera Erzsebet, about the Blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory. This is the original opera about Bathory, who gave rise to a vampire legend. Several people have asked, so: The video footage was shot in Slovakia at the castle, as were the still photos. These were done during three trips there in 1992, 2001 and 2004. I composed the opera scene and the introductory music. The introduction was recorded commercially by Michael Arnowitt in the 1980s, and the opera scene was composed specifically for a visit by the Discovery Channel in 2004. All the material was mixed into this little video a few months later. More information on the topic is on my opera website, http://bathory.org/

I don’t know that she did any of this stuff. Didn’t the king owe her alot of money and didn’t want to pay her back? We don’t really have proper transcripts of her supposed cruelty. Mostly just gossip (some of the stories are hard to believe). She was said to have written it all down in this journal she wrote while under arrest. She said she killed her own daughter who didn’t have a chance to tell her she was her daughter. As if she wouldn’t tell her.
they say its more like 600 women. This was the 1500’s-1600’s and back then they only had documents, things written down and people telling others what happened as proof of what she had done. No one can say for certin if it was 600, but thats what was estimated. She was a sick woman and in that time many royal families married cousins, uncles ect. There is always a chance when you marry family that your children will have problems. Alot of them were insane acted crazy or eccentric.
The Báthory were a Hungarian noble family of the Gutkeled clan. The family rose to significant influence in Central Europe during the late middle ages, holding high military, administrative and ecclesiastical positions in the Kingdom of Hungary. In the early modern period, the family brought forth several Princes of Transylvania and one King of Poland. The most notorious member of the family was Elizabeth, known as the Blood Countess for killing hundreds of young women.

I’ve just finished reading “The Countess” Erzsebet Bathory, by Javier Garcia Sanchez. And I must say, that this is the most extraordinary book I’ve ever had the luck to read until now. I recommend this book to everybody, You will find everything you want there. And I’l assure you will be another person when you finish it.

actually yes, it was proved that she killed many women. she was formally tried and found guilty for the murder of 80 women, but was suspected for having tortured and killed about 300. to this day, she remains one of the worst killers ever.
okay honey, do you belive that julijus cesar was fake too? Maybe you think that its fake that there has existed knights? becouse its documented in the same way, fool
I don’t think Rosso is anything like Bathory though.
they also did that in one of the Castlevania videogames. They named her Elizabeth Bartley.
It’s a fact that she did kill young girls, but there have been disputes lately whether or not the bathing part is a legend.
I really want to know if she ever did kill anyone, even just one person. I mean… it’s not like there’s proof that she didn’t, right? I mean as far as I know. I mean, with these legends… you never know. Sometimes it’s based on a little fact. Ugh… I just want to know!! But I probably never will.
i believe it, but it was more a legened than fact. there’s no physical proof that she ever did that.
JAJA!!! you believe everything…
no dear by all accounts nd records she most certainly did bathe in blood, just do a little research. hun.
There was a video game character in Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, Called “Rosso the Crimson.” Go figure, they copied a historical figure for a video game!
She bathed in blood anyone who deny that is an idiot
sarcasm is a wasted art on Youtube. Sigh.
o_O…Lucky you..
I really think she did that..
This is the opera her freak of a descendent is writing. Let’s all admit that by now he’s just lookin to make some cash off of this “Bathory Blood Ancestry” thing. It’s not even a good opera.
Elizabeth Bathory really lived. She was as real as me. But bathing in blood of young girls is just weird legend.
wow. interresting. where did u get this video, cause its really castle, where she lived.
Even though she was a serial murderess; you should never call a woman that word. She shouldn’t be idolized because she really was a twisted individual but the woman playing her is quite lovely and the countess herself was said to be a beauty.
she would’ve bathed in all your dumbasses blood (and mine too) so stop idolizing the dead cunt of a woman. For what its worth, though, she definetely makes all the serial killers of this century look like child’s play.
she was involved in the movie “STAY ALIVE” where she kills those who plays and die in the game
